Who sets the tree rules

The Village is governed by the Hot Springs Village Property Owners' Association, a private, tax-exempt association run by a general manager and a seven-member volunteer board. We haven't summarized its tree or lot-clearing rules; check with the POA before removing trees, and give the contractor any approval you receive.

With so much of the Village wooded, requests there can range from clearing a lot for a new house to a single dead pine or a row of stumps left before landscaping. See lot clearing and the pest guide.

Requests also come in from Lake Hamilton, Mountain Pine, Malvern, and from Hot Springs itself. See every area.
